When I was at college, I had the opportunity to work as a technician at a high energy physics lab. Lots of PHds and candidates... Physics majors are quite a strange group of people and individuals. They are really out there (or 'in there' if you consider that the people I meet were involved with sub-atomic particles). They were really into a strange mix of science and philosphy and their tools were a mix of math and intuition.

They worked for hours/days setting up for an experiment that lasts a fraction of a second. Then they spend weeks and months figuring out what happened. I got the impression that they enjoyed it most when the unexpected happened.

Engineers tend to enjoy things when the expected happens, just as planned.

Good Luck with your work Bert!
